COLLEGE REUNION

Wellington Old Boys H.B. BRANCH DINNER More than fifty old boys of the college and representatives of other colleges attended the gathering in Hastings on Saturday evening of the Hawke’s Bay branch of the Wellington College Old Boys’ Association. Dr. R. L Button, of Napier, president of the Hawke’s Bay branch, presided. Mr V. Hoadley represented Wanganui College Old Boys, and Mr Selwyn Averill, Christ’s College. Mr J. Sadler, an old-boy of the school, who was a member of the 1935 All Black team, spoke of the team’s visit to England and apologised for the absence of Mr C. Griffiths, who was unable to attend. During the evening a presentation was made to Mr T. Brodie, a member of the college staff, who was married recently. The following toasts were honoured: The King; The School (Colonel Beere— Mr W. A. Armour); The Old Boys’ Association (Mr R. W. Wallace —Colonel Beere); Kindred Associations (Mr Morling—Messrs 8. Averill and V. Hoadley); The Masters of Wellington College (Mr Bridge—Mr T. Brodie). The evening concluded with the singing of “Auld Lang Syne.” followed by a vigorous haka given by a group of the Old Boys.
