The Wanganui Trotting Club’s first meeting of the season was held this afternoon in windy but fine weather, after rain in the morning. The track was on the heavy side. The attendance was good. The totalisator handled £5526 10/-, compared with £5649 10/-, a decrease of £123. An inquiry was held after the second race into an incident in which Polly Pan, when about to take the lead 100 yards from the finish, swerved under pressure and interfered with Native Tree.
