An Interesting Meeting I be weekly Hastings Home League m 'ct’ng was held in the Salvation Army Aoung People's Hall, Heretaunga street, on Wednesday. A large number of members and friends gathered to hoar Mrs Commissioner Holdaway, a visitor from Melbourne ami 46 years ago an officer stationed in Hastings. Mrs Pederson took the chair for tlm afternoon and in a few words welcomed the visitor, saying how pleased old friends were to meet again, bringing back memories of past days. Mrs Batchelor, as a welcome to Mr* Holdaway. then sang one of the late Commissioner’s songs, '‘l've Found the Pearl ot Greatest Price,” and this was followed bv several vocal items by Mi's HiekmotL am] Mr and Mrs Pederson the lattoo singing « Maori song which "us much appreciated by members, who

showed their appreciation by applause. The accompaniments for the afternoon were played by Mesdames Sawyer. Batchelor and Pederson. A very dainty afternoon tea was served by Mrs Venable,s ami helper.. Mrs Holdaway then addressed flic ! meeting, taking tor her subject ‘ Kindness.” Mrs Adjt Mont gomerj then thanked Mrs Holdaway tor her atl« iidame at the meeting and ior giving such a tim address, her icmarks being seconded by Mrs Pederson.
