» ♦ Meeting of the Committee At the tnonthfy meeting of the Parkvale School Committee last night, Mr. A. V. Stamp presided over an attendance of Messrs L. J. Instone, IV. Holder, J. Philpott. K. J. Davidson, T. Rapley, ,1. Stickland (honorary secretary), and AV. B Rowe (headmaster). The headmaster reported that the roll number stood at 406, which was two more than it was at the same time last year. He also said that flic attendance had been fairly good, but there had been several absentees through sickness. Thanks were expressed for discarded books from the Hastings Municipal Library lor use by the pupils. It. was reported that Miss M. Grigor mid Mr. J. Bennett had been appointed to the teaching stall. The conimittc decided that the school picnic be held at Napier on Friday, March I, and arrangements to he made for a. special train at excursion fares lor the conveyance ot the picnickers.
