Though the memorial gate fund I"' gan only a week ago. the committo of the Hawke’s Buy llugbv Union bincollected £73 9/-. which represents approximately one-third of the required amount. New subscribers are C. O Morse £1 1/-; Marist Old Boys’ Football Club. £1 V-: R. Chesney, £1 1/-: G Graham £1 1 /-; A. H Jensen 10/6. These gates to be erected f>+ McLean Park were designed by Mr J Loin’s Hay. a Napier architect, and tin plans drawn bv Air Arthur Milne, both of whom gave their services as a contribution.
