A revolting case of cruelty to animals was revealed in a discovery by the Ingham police of the operations of a gang of horse thieves, who, in a secluded stockyard in the mountains, have been changing the brands of horses. The police found seven horses from which the brands had been removed by cutting into the side. Strips of skin were still hanging from cuts and wounds, which were left unattended, causing great pain.
