WOMAN BEATS MEN

Sydney Show Incident

(Received 3, 10.55 a.nr.) SYDNEY, April 3.

Because she was a woman, Miss jjdna Greenslade, a New Zealand equestrienne, was disqualified from the water jump competition at the Show, after she has been placed second hy the judges. Miss Greenslade mistakenly took part in the jump thinking she was giving an exhibition on the New Zealand horse Dandy. The winner of the event covered 29 feet three inches and Miss Greenslade jumper 28 feet 11 inches. The ribbon was tied round Dandy's neck and it was then pointed out that the event was for men only. The judge took the ribbon back, but replaced it by a special ribbon in appreciation of Miss Greenslade’s effort.
