Kalgoorlie Turf Case ELECTRIC BATTERY FOUND (Received 3, 11.10 a.m.) PERTH, April 8. Life disqualification was imposed at • race meeting at Kalgoorlie on a jockey, S. Whitlock, a trainer, B. Woods, a backer, E. Young, and the six-year-old gelding Black Demon. The action followed the alleged discovery of an electric battery on Woods after Black Demon had won the third division of the Easter Plate. The owner of the horse, who is seriously ill in hospital, was not implicated. It is stated that Woods shook hands with Whitlock, congratulating him on the win, and the accusation that Woods received the battery was made. Subsequently a battery was found.
