SATURDAY’S CONCLUSION AUTUMN TO HYBISCUS. CULLUS THE FLYING. Overcast weather prevailed for the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s autumn meeting, which was opened at Hasting, on Saturday in the presence of a good attendance of the public. The course was in splendid order, the going be.Bg very fast. With the exception of eno erent, satisfactory fields faced tho starter and the public were treated to an excellent day’s sport. Mr J. D. At the halfmile Cullus slipped the cutter on the lot and soon had a big gap of daylight between him and the field, to go on and lead with a big advantage into the straight, followed by Hunting Day, April Fool and Slippery. In the run home little impression was made on Cullus, but Slippery past the rest of the opposition to finish second four lengths from Cullus with April fool two lengths back third and Royal Ben pal fourth. LAVINA INJURED WITHDRAWN FROM ENGAGEMENTS When Hybiscus interfered with Lavina on Saturday, the latter suffered injury to her foreleg which will prevent her from racing for some time. At present she is unable to place the injured member on the ground. She has been withdrawn from to-day’s Waipukurau engagements.
