FREE FOR THIRTY-SIX HOURS
Escapees from Prison Farm
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) ROTORUA, Feb. 23. Two prisoners, Raymond Claude Hogg and John Thomas Hartley, enjoyed a brief spell of 36 hours’ liberty when they escaped from Hautu prison farm. The men are stated to have made a sudden dash into the scrub while the warder’s attention was temporarily distracted, and they were at liberty a day and a half before being arrested.
They were brought before the Police Court and, electing to be dealt with by the Supreme Court, wer e committed for trial.
