CHURCH SERVICES

At St. Matthew’s Church, Hastings, to-morrow, there will be a celebration of the Holy Communion at 8 a.m. Matins will be at 11 a.m. The choir will sing the anthem “0, Ye That Love tho Lord.” Evensong will be at 7 p.m. Evening services will also be held at Mahora School and at St. Barnabas’, Parkvale, at 7 o’clock, and an afternoon service at Twyford School at 2 o’clock.

The services in St. Andrew’s Church, Hastings, will be conducted by the Bev. D. J. Shaw. The evening service will be relayed to St. John’s Hall, Mahora, as usual. Tho preacher will take as the subject of his evening address ‘ ‘ The Jig-saw Puzzle of Life.” Srtangers cordially invited to all services.

At the Hastings Methodist Church (corner of Heretaunga and Hastings streets) special services will be continued to-morrow in connection with the opening of the new building. The Bev. A. H. Serivin will conduct the morning service, and the Rev. E. T. Olds, of Napier, the evening service. There will be a reception of junior members at the morning service. The choir will sing the anthems ‘‘Praised Be the Lord Daily,” ‘‘Rock of Ages,” and Lead, Kindly Light,” and a hymn will be sung by the junior choir. Tho soloists for the day are Mr H. Filo and Mr D. Hawthorne. Prior to the evening service there will be community singing of well-known hymns for half an hour, and a solo by Dr. D. A. Bathgate.

“What is Meant by the New Heaven and the New Earth?” is the title of the evening subject at the Hastings Baptist Church, Karamu road south, tomorrow. The monthly service will be held at Pukahu, commencing at 2.30 p.m. In tho morning service there will be the usual exposition of “The Word.” Tho preacher will be the Rev. E. Nicholls. On Tuesday next, August 2, at 2.30 p.m., there will be a special gathering of the women of the church. Musical items, afternoon tea, and an ad- ; dress by the Rev. J. K. Archer, from Christchurch.

“After Death What?”—Mr. Auld will give an address on this subject in the Nelson Street Hall on Sunday evening at 7 o’clock. The Evangelistic campaign being conducted by Mr. Auld will be continued on Tuesday and Thursday of next week, for which special subjects have been selected and should prove of great interest to all.

The services in the Havelock North Presbyterian Church to-morrow will- be conducted by the Rev. R. Waugh. Tho Clive morning service will bo conducted by Mr of tho Orphanage, in Wellington.

The address to be given in the United Hall, Lyndon road, Hastings, on Sunday night will be entitled “Evolution a false doctrine subversive of Bible truth.” Particulars are advertised elsewhere in this issue.
