ANOTHER ART UNION
SEVERAL BODIES TO BENEFIT. MOSTLY A. AND P. ASSOCIATIONS. I Wellington, July 28. The Government has approved of a license being issued for a further £4OOO alluvial gold art union to financially aid a number of institutions whose funds have been seriously depleted by the depression. The societies to benefit by the art union, which will bo drawn on September 24, are the following: “The Smith Family,” or Mayor’s Fund, for the relief of distress in the : four centres, Egmont A. and P. Association (Hawera), Wairoa A. and P. Association, Poverty Bay A. and P. Association, Opotiki A. and P. Association, Bay of Plenty Winter Show Association, Nelson A. and P. Association, Maniapoto A. and P. Association, Strath Taieri A. and P. Association,, Lake County A. and P. Association, Central Otago A. and P. Association, New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association (for the promotion of instruction in swimming among school children throughout New Zealand), and the New Zealand branch of the Royal Life Saving Society (for assistance to surf dubs).
