A 40 per eent. reduction in the wages for all classes or workers was contained in a proposal By country sawmillers for a new award. The proposals, if given effect to, would reduce the labourer’s wage from 15/- a day, less 10 per cent., to !)/- and that of skilled workers from 18/- to 10/-.
