NEWS AND NOTES. A final reminder is given of the oldtime dance to be held in the Town Board hall this (Thursday) evening, commencing at 8 o’clock sharp. Everything has been done to ensure the enjoyment of patrons, and a large crowd is expected. The admission charges are: Gentlemen 1/6, ladies 1/and a plate. Great interest is being shown in the concert to be held at Havelock North on Friday. A good programme has been arranged, including such popular favourites as Mr J Le Compte, Mr W. Kean, and Miss Ann Moody. Three pupils of Miss Jean Ballantyne’s will give an exhibition of the American Tap dance. The Ragamuffin Romeos will also make their first appearance before the public in a variety entertainment. Popular prices will be charged. The proceeds go to aid necessitous ca .es under the ’ auspices of the Registered Unemployed Association.
