ALLEGED DISCHARGE OF SHOTGUN. Masterton, June.l4. The sequel to a shooting affray near the Waiohine river bridge, south of Carterton, at about 5.30 p.m. on Saturday was heard in the Carterton Magistrate’s Court. Jack Richards was charged with discharging a firearm at Reuben Kopu with intent to do bodily harm. The accused was remanded to appear on Tuesday, bsH being allowed. It was stated that Kopu, who lives across the road from Richards, heard an altercation in the latter’s house am’ went across to investigate. When he was approaching, however, it is alleged that Richards discharged a shotgun at him. Portion of the shot entero l Kopu’s wrist. Kopu was admitted to the Masterton Hospital. The injuris not serious.
