“We find in practice that in cases where husbands remarry, it is becoming increasingly difficult to’ensure that the wife and children get maintenance,” said counsel in the Divorce Court at Auckland when applying on behalf of a wife for judicial separation on certain grounds. Application was made in this form because the wife might find it difficult to obtain maintenance for herself and three children if the husband were free to marry again.
