H.B. EXECUTIVE MEETS THE MONTHLY BUSINESS At the monthly meeting of the executive of the Hawke’s Bay War Relief Association there were present: Messrs John Harding (chairman). W. G. F. Frame, E. F. Stubbs, J. N. Barrie, C. H, Critchley, T. H. Ringlaud, L. J. Mackersey. Branch returns were adopted as follow:— Dannevirko branch, payments £143 13s 4d receipts £l6O 5s 2d; Hastings £293 18s lid, £l7B 18s, 2d; Takapau £lB Os 6d, £1; Waipawa £4 Is 3d, £5 19s 2d; Waipukurau £l2 15s. £67 3s Id; Wairoa £l3O 12s 4d, £55 Is 2d; Woodville £5 2s lid, £6l ss; Napier £202 17s 9d £l3O 13s 2d. Totals £Bll 2s and £660 4s lid. The secretary's report, w-hich was adopted, showed that receipts since last meeting totalled £822 14s lid made up as follows: Advances refunded, £592 8s id; interest on loans to soldiers, £67 16s lOd; interest on investments, £62 10s; National War Funds Council £lOO. Details of the payments, which totalled £709 13s lOd, are as follow:— Grants to soldiers and dependents.— Dannevirke branch. 47 soldiers £5B 5s lOd, 6 dependents £l7 ss; Hastings, 23 soldiers £6O 3s 7d, 2 dependents £l3; Takapau. 38 soldiers £9 7s 6d; Wairoa, 15 soldiers £4 6s lid; Woodville, 16 soldiers £5 2s lid; Napier 55 soldiers £93 6s 3d. 2 dependents £5 0s 8d; Waipawa, 15 soldiers £4 Is 3d; Waipukurau, 2 soldiers £9, 1 dependent £2. Total £2Bl Is lid. Loans to soldiers: — Dannevirke branch, 2 soldiers £25 7s lOd; Hastings. 8 soldiers £145 2s 7d; Wairoa, 3 soldiers £ll6 17s; Napier. 17 soldiers £76 6s Id. Total £363 13s 6d. Payments on account of other societies. — Dannevirke branch, 4 soldiers £9 2s 6d; Hastings, 7 soldiers £44 Is 7d; Wairoa, 1 soldier £1 17s lOd; Napier 4 soldiers £8 16s 6d; Waipukurau, 1 soldier £l. Total £64 18s sd.
