FAT LAMBS

An export buyer informed i> "Tribune” representative to-day that fat lambs now being drafted in this district are not comparable with early drafts—seconds being very numerous —owners having grave doubts whether rape crops will stand much feeding off. Fortunately, the drafts coming forward from Southern Hawke’s Bay are still showing plenty of bloom, being in most eases the first drafts, as that district is considerably later than our own. This will help to keep the average quality of shipments more even, as it is undesirable that there should be an undue proportion of seconds so early in the season.
