AUSTRALIAN WOOL SALES
A CHEERFUL OUTLOOK. The Sydney wool-selling brokers’ weekly report states that the recent advances at Sydney have been fully sustained at the Brisbane and Adelaide sales, and prices have tended further upwards. Yorkshire, France and Germany have been operating strongly, also Japan, and the prospects are very encouraging. The sales have shown that the power of the market has not been expended, and it is confidently expected to develop in all directions. Yorkshire's demand has been an outstanding feature of the sales, especially since the British elections. There is a marked Continental demand and Japan is a strong buyer, whilst there has been healthful bidding trow local users. The best feature of the sales was the full clearances and the small quantity passed in. It is confidently expected that the genera) improvement in prices will continue to develop in buyers’ favour and that a record clip will obtain full clearance at rising values. An Adelaide message states that a rise in wool of from 15 to 20 per cent, at the local sales has greatly cheered South Australian producers.
