FAT SHEEP PRICES EASIER. A fairly large yarding of fat sheep came forward at the Matawhero stock sale on Friday, when prices were easier. The beef cattle attracted little attention. BEEF. Not much interest was shown in the beef market. Bullocks sold to £5 17/6 and £6, good cows £5, and good heifers £4 5/-. Prices:—2 cows, £3 15/-; 3 Jersey cows, £2 10/-; 3 P.A. cows, £4 10/-; 2 light Jersey heifers, £2 10/-; 2 Here-ford-P.A. cross bullocks, £5 17/6; 1 good Hereford bullock, £6; 4 solid speyed cows, £5; 5 good speyed heifers, £4 5/-; 1 Jersey cow, £3 10/-; 1 Jersey cow, £2 17/6. FAT SHEEP. An entry of 795 fat sheep came forward.. There was an all-round decline in values. Woolly ewes made up to 7/10, shorn to 6/9, prime woolly, maiden, 4-th ewes 10/-, heavy woolly wethers 11/-, shorn wethers 7/6 to 8/4. Fat lambs brought 10/- and 10/7. Second grade woolly ewes went up to 6/2, and shorn to 5/-.
