SUSPICIONS OF MURDER. DETECTIVE DETAINS SUSPECT. Blenheim, Nov. 7. In connection with the death of James Flood, the old man whose body ■was found in a whare at Picton on Friday with his throat cut ond wounds on the head, Detective Sinclair and other police officers have been very active. It is understood that Sergeant Peterson detained a suspect in Blenheim and took him to Picton, where he is being interrogated. Important dodelopments are expected now. Recent inquiries revealed that some years ago tho late Mr Flood sold a farming property at Port Underwood to Messrs Barton Bros, for £3OOO. It is believed that it is this money that the old man invested in shares’ in the Bank of-New Zealand, and from which he had been drawing dividends.
