FADING AND ATMOSPHERICS. 8.8. C. ’S EXPERIMENTS. London, November 7. The British Broadcasting Company, in replv to an inquiry how far it has succeeded in overcoming fading and atmospherics, says it wifi utilise probably five short wave lengths at different periods of the day in the hope of reaching New Zealand and Australia at relayable strength. In this connection it may be mentioned that experiments with low waves have not solved the fading on the Australian beam, which at present cannot be operated for long stretches at night. The Broadcasting Coroporation will not be ready for the next transmission to Australia for at least a year. z
