OTANE INTERESTS

CHURCH AFFAIRS The ladies' committee of the Anglican Church, are to be heartily congratulated on the splendid success of their sale of work for the Church Fund on Friday last, the results being most encouraging, for those who did such splendid work. The produce stall was in the capable hands of Mesdames E. G. Williams, T. .1. Warren and Jas Tod, jur., Miss G. Warren amt Miss McHardy; jumble stall; Mesdames W. Spargo and P. Petersen; the sweet stall, which was most attractive was attended by Miss Mary Warren and Mrs. Cai ter. The flower stall, a gorgeos display of

blooms, was artistically arranged by Mesdames Athol Williams and Kitt. Mesdames A. W. Tod, R. H. White and F. Fowklsl displayed a tempting array of home made cakes and this was a very popular stall. A fancy stall of needle work and novelties was in the capable hands of Mrs. Davies and Miss Mason. Mesdames R. T. Hall, R. Pilcher and Miss Howard dispensed a dainty light luncheon and afternoon tea . A lovely doll, beautifully dressed by Mrs. Quinn was won by Miss Janet MacKenzie ol Pukehou A guessing competition, for which Miss Langridge was responsible resulteJ as follow:—A 51b chest of tea was won by Mrs. Fairhall of Te Koura; a turkey went to Mr. F. Mardon of Hastings; a hen and chickens in a coop to Mi. C. F. Hartland of Waipukurau and a handsomely iced cake to Miss Hank of Pukeh ou.
