HUTT 400 UP FOR SIX BIGGAR SCORES 214 Wellington, November 7. A feature of the opening of the second series of matches in the senior cricket championship competition was the 400 for six wickets score by Hutt against Institute. Lambert, tho Institute captain, won the toss and sent, his opponents into bat. A. Biggar, an ex-Nelson College player, ran up 214, hitting 37 fours. Lees scored 52 not out, McGirr 43 and Gwilliam 32. Fortune took three wickets for 82, Lambert one for 114 and Henderson two for 134. Old Boys scored 209 for seven wickets (declared) (Dempster 52 not out, Brown 42, Du Chaleau 37, Lamason 36), against Petone, who lost one wicket, for 65 (Roberts 35). Bowling for Petone, Rotherham took three for 47 and Bruce three for 55. Wellington fell for 156 (Foley 61 not out, Hirey 21) against Kilbirnie, who scored 34 for no wickets (Monkhouse 22). Bowling for Kilbirnie Griffiths took six wickets for 57 and Crook four for 43. University totalled 183 against Midland (Bailey 64), and Midland scored 33 for one wicket. For Midland Cleverley took four wickets for 51 and Baker three for 53.
