CABLES IN BRIEF. The Kwongsang Wreck: British and Chinese naval landing parties released three survivors, who were Chinese, from the wrecked Kwongsang, recovering looted ship’s property valued at 1000 dollars, after drastic punitive measures against piratical villagers who are located on the marshy Sintu peninsula. Forty bodies from the wreck were reburied. The Hankow Floods: As a mark of sympathy the Emperor is donating from the privy purse 100,000 yen to Chinese sufferers by the Hankow floods and 10,000 to Japanese. Two Young Greeks Dead: Two young Greeks were found dead in a hut on their orchard at Longlake, ten miles from Swan Hill, Victoria. One of the victims had his head battered, apparently with a pick handle which was found bloodstained outside the hut: The other victim was shot through the heart and a rifle was near his feet.
