THE UNEMPLOYED WORKER’S MOVEMENT.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—After the unemployment worker’s movement meeting, held in the Trades Hall on Monday night at which only about 80 people attended, it is now a matter of fact that the Communist party have full control of the movement. It is also a fact that the majority of the workers are decidedly against being under the guidance and control of the Communists, whose outspoken policy is one of destruction, therefore it has been decided to form an antiCommunist movement, whose aims will be constructive and not destructive. To this end, a meeting will be held shortly to consider a constitution which will meet the views of all sane men and women, whether employed or unemployed. A temporary committee has been enlisted to consider ways and means, and the workers will be informed of their proposals. Tn the meantime, this committee seriously and strongly advises the workers to refrain from joining the present movement and thus paving their subscriptions to the Communists.
This committee will welcome correspondence from all centres in the Dominion, with a view to consolidating this movement, such correspondence tn be addressed to: P.O. Box Wellington. Signed bv the Temporary Committee of the Ppnnle’s Movement. Wellington. 18/8/31.
