RESULT OF MILITARY “CUT ” Wellington, June 27. “Owing to a drastic cut in the De* fence estimates a change is being made regarding the Base Records office and from to-morrow it will cease to exist as a seprate unit and will be controlled by one of the defence branches,” wrote the officer-in-charge of the N.Z.E.F. Base Records office, Mr C. H. Clemens, to the War Relief Association of Wellington to. day. “Before reliquishing my position as officer-in-charge,” he continued, “I desire to thank you and your association for the many courtesies received. I drop my connection with E.F. matters with considerable regret, but 1 am sure that whoever becomes respon siblc for supplying your association with information will endeavour to give you all possible assistance. The friendly relationships which have existed between the Base Record Office and War Relief Association will always bo a plcesant memory to me. ”
