GIFT TEA FOR A BRIDE

ENJOYABLE PAIITY. (By ‘Stella.’’) A most delightful party was given by Mrs. O’Neill and Mrs. Perrin for Miss Doris Brooke-Taylor, at Mrs. O’Neill’s home in York street last Wednesday Both the hostesses looked very charming. Airs. O’Neill’s frock was of navy blue silk lace, with a flounced skirt dipping at the side. Mrs. Perrin, picturesque silvergrey lace and taffetas ensemble worn with a silver grey lace coat. Aliss Doris Brooke-Taylor was in a dainty dress of beige lace with a hat to tone, and crepe de chine shoes ol the same shade

Mrs Brooae-layloi wore a smart irock of soft black satin charmeuse, and a black hat.

Mrs. Mills and Airs. Bach helped the hostesses to entertain the guests and dispense tea. Airs. Mills’ (rock was of softly flounced champagne lace, with a long-waisted bodice and skirt dipping at the side. Airs. Bach was m a dainty figured ivory and jade-green dress of French ninon, with a very effective green silk coat and a green hat. A happy time was spent by everyone wandering about the garden and house. The house decorations were the artistic work of Miss M Ebbett, whose choice of blooms, colour scheme, and general arrangement, were much admired. A treasure bunt in the beautiful garden was most enjoyable, for this gave also an opportunity to see the gay roses and other flowers, and the smooth green lawns. It was won by six of the guests, who all found pretty gifts. Guessing and putting competitions were also very entertaining Afternoon tea was handed round on trays both inside and outside in the garden, and the gramophone musie made everything specially bright. Strawberries and cream were also found most delectable

At the close of the most delightful party Miss Brooke-Taylor opened her pretty md varied gifts in the drawingroom, and- the guests sang “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow,” ending with three cheers. Cheers were also given for the hostesses who had given everyone such a very pleasant and entertaining party. Those present included: Mrs. W. McCaw, Mrs. and Miss Luckie, Mrs. Henry Lawlor Miss Morrison, Miss Robin, Miss McMullen. Miss Evans. Mrs. George Roach, Miss Amy Roach, Miss Black, Alias Lindsay. Airs, de Lisle, Airs A. Small. Airs. Chris. Parker. Airs. Joe Wedd. Airs. Swan, Mrs. Jackson. Airs. Gifford, Airs. Jordan, Airs. Hardy, Aliss Hardy, Aliss M Ebbett, Mrs. Nicols. Airs. Candy Mrs. Wallace. Airs. Spinney. Aliss Rudman, Airs Bockett, Misses Baird (2). Mrs. Shepherd, Airs. Ballantyne, Mrs. Campbell, Airs. Crammond, and manymore.
