An article in the October number of the Scottish Journal of Agriculture entitled “Some Economic Aspects of Now Zealand Dairy Farming,’’ by Mr J. E. F. Jenks, makes the following somewhat startling assertion: “The ‘average’ farm is one of 200 acres, almost all under permanent grass, carrying 37 cows, and yielding to its owneroccupier a ‘labour income’ of £133, after reckoning interest at 7 per cent oa a capital of £4000,”
