POWER BOARD REPRESENTATION
HASTINGS AND NAPIER UNITED. PROPOSED ALTERATIONS OBJECTED TO. The Electricity Committee* reported to the Napier Borough Council that it had conferred with represer tatives of the Hastings Borough Council regarding the proposed alteration of the representation of the Hawke's Bay Electric Power Board at which the following resolution was passed:—“That the combined committees of the Napier and Hastings Borough Councils recommend to their respective councils that a strong resolution of protest lie forwarded to the Minister of Public Works against any alteration in their representation on the Hawke’s Bay Electric Power Board. Further, that a copy of the resolution be forwarded to the members repie senting the respective constituencies, in Parliament and that such representatives be asked to obtain an assurance from the Minister that no alteration will lie made in the representation of the board until the two local authorities are given an opportunity io state their case.” The council adopted the report, instructing the committee to confer with the Hastings representatives and to take what action was found necessary.
