HASTINGS ANTE-NATAL CLINIC
DIRECTOR-GENERAL WANTS MOBE DETAILS. SEPARATE BUILDING THOUGHT . UNNECESSARY. / In connection with the proposed ante-natal clinic for the Memorial Hospital at Hastings, tho DirectorGeneral of Health yesterday advised the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board that the information available indicated that there was ample room in the present hospital building to house such a clinic. Tho necessity, therefore, for providing a separate building for this purpose was not apparent to him and before going any further ho would be pleased to have more details
The chairman (Mr C. O. Morse) said that it was extraordinary to receive such a letter from Dr. Valint.ine when the department had already approved a subsidy towards the donation received by tho board for that purpose. He thought that the present position might have arisen through the question of fixing tho site. Mr F. B. Logan suggested that the medical superintendent should report on the matter and forward it to Dr. Valintine. Dr. Berry had already stated that it was not suitable to have such a clinic in the building, and he concurred with that opinion.
Tho board decided that the matter should be dealt with when an official of the Department conferred with members of the board regarding finalising other matters.
