BAND CARNIVAL
CONCLUDED IN HASTINGS. GREAT FINAL NIGHT RALLY. In response to many appeals the Hastings Citizens’ Band’s Carnival was extended for one day and night. Yesterday saw a great final rally at the Assembly Hall, and the large attendances of the public made it obvious that the carnival was indeed a popular fixture. The evening saw the hall absolutely packed, and the already overworked stallholders gallantly continued their efforts to meet the extra demand. At closing time barely an article was left for sale. AU the sideshows did wonderful business, and the cabaret attracted a record crowd. The members of the band and the organisers desire to express their heartfelt thanks to all those who in any way assisted them in their efforts. Unquestionably the carnival was a decided success, both from the financial and entertainment viewpoints. The results of the various competitions conducted throughout the festivities will be announced later. Ticket sellers are requested to make up all returns as quickly as possible.
