This chutney recipe is sent and guaranteed by a good local housekeeper, so should' be useful to many others 21bs. gooseberries (or apples). 21bs. sugar. lib. raisins. lib. chopped dates, Joz.. garlic. 4ozs. preserved ginger. }oz. red pepper. 2ozs. salt. Boil fruit covered with vinegar. When quite soft add other ingredients, and boil for ten minutes more.
