METROPOLITAN MEETING OPENS. CUP DIVISION RUN. Christchurch, Nov. 12. The first day of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s spring meeting was held to-day. The weather was fine with a strong east wind. The course was in good order, and the attendance large. The tote investments were £61,392, compared with £67,978 10/- for the corresponding day of last year. Late results: — New Zealand Cup, 2 miles.—First Division I Mr. B. Grice’s Kingcraft, scr. (D. Withers) 1, 7 Peter Bingen 2, 3 Dundas Boy 3. Also ran: 5 9 Cardinal Logan, 4 Roil Lor, 8 Terence Dillon, 2 Gold Jacket, 6 Jack Potts. Won by two lengths. Prince Pointer a head away was fourth.
