MODERATE YARDING OF SHEEP

A quiet time was experienced at the Waipukurau stock sale when the weekly offering took place to-day. There was a good attendance of buyers, but only a small entry of cattle came forward and a moderate yarding of sheep. Prices were steady, in some instances showing a slight decline. Cattle; Three small P.A. heifers and 1 heifer and calf were the first offering, and were passed in; one cow followed and was passed in at £6 2/6; 6 Hereford heifers, a well conditioned line sold for £TI 10/-. The proceeds in this case go to the Waipukurau Hospital if the owner does not claim these stray cattle; 7 prime cows and heifers £7 19/-; 6 weaner m.s. 29/-, 1 PA. bull £5.

Fat Sheep: Fifteen fat ewes 20/6, 37 fat ewes 20/3.

Store Sheep: 19 ewes, mostly light, 15/-; 1 fat wether 26/6; 17 S.D. cross lambs, mostly f. and f., 19/6; 3 fat lambs 21/9; 8 ewes in poor condition. 7/-; 1 S.D. ram, likewise, 5/-; 50 4 and 5-yr ewes, s.m., light, wenpassed at 21/-; 7 ewes (poor) realised 9,/6; 2 ewes, 16/-; 39 2-th wethers, 26/-; 35 ewes (light), 15/2; 38 m.s. lambs (small). 14/10; 34 wethers, 21/9; 329 black faced lambs (good), 20/7; 152 f. and f. wethers passed at 27/3; 155 f. and f.. iambs fetched 23/10; 154 wether lambs, 20/1; these were offered on behalf of Mr. E. T. Wilder, Spring Bush; 146 S.D. lambs (small) passed at 15/6; 88 2-th ewes (prime condition) passed at 34/6; 106 2-th ewes, a small line but coarse wool, fetched 34/-; 84 m.s. lambs (coarse wool). 34/-; 84 m.s. lambs (good), 20/3; 64 2-th wethers, well forward, 27/-: 41 4 and 8-yi ewes and 1 S.D. ram (light weight), 23/-; 41 5-yr ewes (light) and 1 S.D.-ram, 12/6; 9 1 an’d 2-shear S.D. rams passed at Signs; 3 one-shear S.D. rams fetched 6igvs; 5 shearling S.D. rams 6Jgns; 4 shearling S.D. rams sgns; 1 2-shear S.D. ram Bgns sold on behalf of Mr. R.
