BLOOD STOCK SALE

100 GUINEAS TOP PRICE.

Thorpe, of Awapuni, and Captain Gage Williams, of Trentham. The first-named offered six lots, and only one failed to change hands, although in that instance there is a prospect of a private sale being effected following upon an inspection by the intending purchaser’s trainer. While there was a good bench of interested onlookers, bidding was somewhat dull throughout, and 100 guineas, for Ania, the half-sister to Wednesday’s Gold Cup winner, Ilapier, was the top price recorded, it being interesting to note that the purchaser was Mr. G. G. Holmes, of Christchurch, the owner of Rapier.
