Andrew Robert Ferguson, aged 59, a taxi driver,' admitted at the Police Court at Auckland that on Saturday evening he was in a state of intoxication while in charge of his motir ear. Sub-Inspector McCarthy said that Ferguson was seen by two constables to leave his car in Nelson street at 6 p.m. in an intoxicated condition. He went into an hotel, and on returning ti his car he was stopped and prevented from driving away. In fining the accused £25. in default two months’ imprisonment, the Magistrate told Ferguson that he deserved to have his license cancelled. It would bo endorsed, but if he not himself into any further trouble he would lose it altogether.
