ANNUAL MEETING OF SPORTS i CLUB.

SATISFACTORY POSITION DISCLOSED.

The annual meeting of the Puketapu Sports Club was held in the Puketapu Hall on Saturday night, Mr A. J. Price presiding over a good attendance of members and supporters. The chairman stated that the past year had been most satisfactory. For the sports meeting record prize money was given, and as a result of the widespread support that the club received, its position was now better than ever. ’ The committee had done excellent work, while special mention of the services of the secretary, Mr F. Bryne, and of tho treasurer, Mr P. Drummond, was deserving as it was largely due to their efforts that tho club owed its present satisfactory position. The balance-sheet, showing a credit of £26 5s 7d on the year’s working, and a total credit balance of £l5O 2s 4d, was adopted. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:— Patron, Mr H. M. Campbell, M.P.; president', Mr P. Dolbel, senr.; vicepresidents, Messrs P. Patullo, J. Absolum, L. Higgins, J. Benson, R. Bell, A. E. Horne, Adam Bell, T. H. Lowry, 8. Allen, F. Tong, J. Bicknell, J. Martin, J. E. Peach, A. V. S. Heed, H. R. Clarke, R. Donald, R. Cawsten, J. Kelly, E. J. Orr, P. Wright, E. Moody and Rev. Geddis; committee, Messrs P. Drummond, F. Tong, R. Inglis, K. Jones E. Nelson, J. /Alexander, R. Donald, L. Hayes, J. E. Janies, T. Gillespie, W. Little, R. Kennedy, C. H. Williams and S. Inglis; lion. secretary, Mr F. S. Brync; hon. treasurer, Mr P. Drummond; hon. auditor, Mr J. E. James. GENERAL. The New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union approved of the annual sports meeting being held on Saturday, March 16, following the Autumn Show.

It was decided that the various horse events which proved so popular last season should be again a special feature on the next meeting’s programme.
