A very enjoyable programme of music was provided at the Waipukurau Hospital yesterday afternoon, when the Waipawa Band entertained the patients and nurses, also a considerable number of visitors. The visit was a much appreciated one and a further entertainment of the kind at an early date would be equally welcomed.

Ideal weather conditions marked the week-end and the various pastimes attracted a large number of devotes, while picnic outings were numbered among the more popular features of nejoyment. Like many of the town centres Waipukurau experienced a month of comparative trade dulness as the result of the inclemency of the weather during part of October and November, but there is now a more seasonable tone prevailent in business circles, and no reason to believe that the shopping Christmas of 1928 w>l suffer by comparison with its predecessors.
