NEAL & CLOSE CUP

COMPETITIONS COMMENCED.

• C GRADE MATCHES.

Saturday saw the competition for the Neal and Close Cup begin, when C Grade games were played. Ram interfered with the play and there are still several games yet to be gut off in the first round.

Nelson Park B played St. Paul’s A team, the result being 10 games going in favour of the latter and three in favour of the former, three games having yet to be completed. Hawke’s Bay played St. Patrick’s the finish of the day seeing Hawke's Bay emerge with seven sets in their favour and St. Patrick’s with five. The ladies’ and men’s doubles have not yet been played, but the men’s doubles will take place to-morrow evening at 5 o’clock. At Taradale St. Patrick's B team played Taradale. the result being 11 sets in favour of the home team and six in favour of the visitors. Details:—
