DAIRYING IN N.S.W.

PROSPECTS NONE TOO BRIGHT.

URGENT NEED OF RAIN. [United Preea Association—By Cable Copyright.] [Australian and N.Z. Press Assn.) (Received 3. 12 noon.) Sydney, December 3. Concern is expressed regarding prospects in the dairying districts owing to insufficient rainfall during the past five months along the cen tal area of New South Wales, where "nod rains are urgently needed to revive pastures. The effect of reports by Dairy Department officials is that instead of a seasonable advance towards the peak of butter and cheese productions there is now a decline in,almost all important districts to an extent of about 15 per cent. Considerable hand feeding is renorted in order to maintain milk production. Conditions inland are better with dry feed available, but production has passed the peak, and is below normal. Even good rains would not prevent a decline now.
