CHURCH GARDEN PARK

A very successful and sociable garden party was held on Tuesday last by the members of St. Matthew's Sewing Guild in the vicarage garden. Seats were placed about the lawn and tea was dispensed from a large table to one side There was golf-putting on another lawn. Mrs Pinckney being the winner A peanut hunt resulted in Aliss Powdrell coming first. Some bright musical selections were given on a gramophone lent by one of the members. The Rev. C. AlortimerJones worked untiringly in entertaining the guests and helping everyone to enjoy themselves. He was ably assisted by Mrs Mortimer-Jones, president of the Guild, and Mrs T. Hogg, hon. secretary, also by the committee. A large number of parishioners were present and all much appreciated the pleasant afternoon.
