Crossbred greasy market shows a hardening tendency. Selections very limited. Slipe coarse and medium crossbred part to 5 per cent, advance. WELLINGTON FRUIT PRICES Messrs. W. Burbidge and Co. notify all growers that their premises were not affected by the recent disastrous fire, and they are carrying on business as usual.
They report this week a good demand for all small fruits, and fancy grade Sturmers and Delicious are selling well. Green peas, French beans, cherries, gooseberries ana cherry plums are in keen demand. New potatoes and onions scarco. Current prices: Apples: Sturmers, 6/. to 12/-, Delicious 6/- to 10/6, Dohertys 6/- to 9/-. Pears: W. Coles and Nelis 6/- to 10/-. P. Barrys 4/- to 8/- all bushel cases. Green peas, 12/- to 16/- bag; new potatoes, 2id to 3d per lb; gooseberries, 6/- to 7/6 half case; cherry plums, 6/- to 8/- half case; cherries. 7/- to 10/- per 101 b, box; new laid eggs, 1/3 dozen; separator butter, 1/- to 1/2 lb; hothouse tomatoes, Nelson (red) 1/2 to 1/4, coloured 1/to 1/3, green lOd to 1/-. Hastings, red 1/- to 1/2 lb,: Nelson strawberries 9d to 1 /-; chip walnuts, lOd lb,; Victorian Globe onions (arriving December 3rd) 17/- cwt; French beans 1/- to 1/3 per lb.
