(United Preae Association—By Cable Copyright.)

[Australian and N.Z. Press Assn.)

(Received 1, 8.50 a.m.) Sydney, Dec. 1

The Federal Ministry has emerged with a substantial majority of eleven, Labour having won back eight seats, increasing their representation to 31 in a House of 75.

The Government lost three seats in New South Wales, and one in each of the other States.

The total Ministerial party is now 43, not counting one Independent who is likely to support the Ministry. In the Senate Labour is likely to gain eight seats, which will more evenly balance the parties in this Chamber. The results check will be known next week.
