WAIPUKURAU TOURNEY LADIES' MATCHES. CONCLUDING RESULTS. The Waipukurau ladies’ golf tournament was finished yesterday, after some good matches. Mr. L. H. Bishop, in a short speech thanked those responsible for the arrangements and called upon Mrs Hector Speedy to present the prizes to the winners. Following are the final results: — CHAMPIONSHIP. Semi-final: Mrs Collinson beat Miss Ormond; Mrs Woolams beat Mrs Clark. Final: Mrs Collinson beat Mrs Woolams, 3 up and 2. MARAKEKE HANDICAP. Semi-final: Mrs Freedman beat Mrs Trevor; Mrs Dalgleish beat Miss Pease. Final: Mrs Freedman beat Mrs Dalgleish, 4 and up 3. SENIOR MEDAL ROUND. The best four cards for the senior

OTHER MATCHES. In the play-off for the junior bogey match, Miss Sainsbtiry beat Mrs Freedman. The two best cards in the four-ball bogey match were:—Mrs Mackie and Mrs Sainsbury, 3 up; Mrs Bishop and Mrs Pease, 2 up. The play-off by those who tied iu the first day’s putting competition resulted in a win for Mrs Clark. The second day’s putting was won by Mrs Limbrick.

KAPI TAREHA EQUALS COURSE RECORD. Dannovirke, August 9. The annual Dannevirke golf tournament was opened to-day in brilliant weather, the competitors being representative of the southern nart of the North Island. K. Tareha was head of the qualifying round of 36 holes, with a score of 147. His morning round (73) equalled the record for the course. A large crowd followed the Mac-lieod-Kay contest. Both played well, but Miss Kay’s putting was not so good ae usual. The final will be over 36 holes, match play, to-morrow.
