When L. Walsh, a carrier, was driving a truck down Okahkura hill, near Taumarunui. last evening the steering gear failed and the lorry, with a full load of timber, went over a bank. Walsh jumped clear and escaped with a severe shaking The lorry settled in the gudy below and burst into flames. The Irrry mid . 3000 feet ot timber were destroyed.
