MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of the Royal New Zealand Society fon the Health of Women and Children was held on Tuesday. Present: —Miss Williams (chair), Mesdames J. H. Williams, A. Bell F. Nelson, L. Gordon, R. Sunderland, A. Tonkin, C. Stubbs. H. P. Burr, T. Gill, E. J. Herrick, Geo. McLeod, T. A. Hogg, E. Elphick, Buchanan, and E. V. Simpson (hon. secretary). The nurses’ report for July submitted to the meeting reads as follows:—New cases 21. cases under care 1309, visitors to office 1137, visits to homes 460, advice over telephone 100, letters received 3, letters written 3. The secretary reported that the Plunket ball realised the sum of £B7 8s Bd. An offer was received from Miss Jean Ballantyne to give a dance recital in aid of the society’s funds, which was accepted with thanks. This will take place in the Municipal Theatre on Friday October 5.
