The death is reported by cable from London of Lord Coleridge, a Judge of the High Court from 1907 to 1923. His heir is the Hon. Geoffrey Coleridge,
Miss Mqyra Gallagher, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Gallagher, of Hastings, left this morning on her return to Wellington.
Mr N. Hayward, advance manager for the, tour of the finalists of the Miss New Zealand 1927 Beauty Contest, is at present in Hastings making arrangements for their personal appearance at the Municipal Theatre on Monday and Tuesday next
Mr. lan Johnston, who has been visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Johnston, of Hastings, left this morning on his return to Titnaru, accompanied by Mr J. Healey, of Timaru, who was also the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Johnston.
The death has occurred at Greymouth of Mrs. Catherine Perkins, aged 86, an ex-Mayoress. She arrived at Port Chalmers in 1849, and on the West Coast in 1866 (states a Press Association message from Greymouth).
Followers of Rugby who knew the days when the mana of Auckland forwards was great, will learn with regret that the famous "lock” of the great Auckland pack of 1906, W. Cunningham, died in an Auckland hospital on Saturday morning after three days’ illness from acute meningitis (states the "Dominion’s” Auckland correspondent).
