NAPIER’S NEEDS.
NEW P.O. AND COURTHOUSE (Special to “Tribune.”) Wellington, Aug. 13. Some of the requirements of Napier were mentioned by Mr. John Mason (Napier) in the House of Representatives last night. Napier, he said, wanted a new Post Office He understood that plans had been prepared for the new building and he hoped it would not be long before the Postmaster-General would visit Napier to lay the foundation stone. Napier also had a very old wooden Courthouse. It contained a mw library of considerable value, and was insured for £4OOO, which might be wiped out by fire at aiiv time. Such public buildings should be done away with and modern structures erected. Also the Government offices in Napier were very scattered and should be housed under one roof.
