high COMMISSIONER’S OFFICE THE BUILDINGS DESCRIBED. (Received 10, 1.20 p.m.) London, April 9. The New Zealand Government is paying £200,000 for the Medical Association’s buildings, states Mr. J. Phillips, auctioneer. The i purchase is now complete apart from legal formalities. Their value will, be greatly enhanced when the widening of the Strand is completed. Tire building consists of eight floors, including a public cinema in the basement, which is being utilised for displaying films of New Zealand life and industries. The late Premier. Mr. Massey, inspected and approved of the building in 1923 and Mr. Coates has brought to a conclusion the agreement to purchase after three years’ negotiations, which were marked by several serious hitches.—(Sydney “Sun” cable).
